Royal Thai Air Force Confirms Fresh F-16 Strike on Cambodian BM-21 Depot

Bangkok – December 9th, 2025

The Royal Thai Air Force announced today that F-16 fighter jets carried out a precision airstrike this afternoon on a Cambodian BM-21 multiple-rocket-launcher storage facility in Oddar Meanchey province.

In an official statement released this evening, the RTAF said its aircraft dropped GBU-12 laser-guided bombs, completely destroying the depot and triggering a series of powerful secondary explosions as stored 122 mm rockets detonated.

“The strike eliminated heavy weapons that have been used to attack Thai territory,” the statement read.

The operation follows yesterday’s (8 December) outbreak of fighting along the border, during which Cambodian forces fired BM-21 rockets into Buriram and Surin provinces.

Footage released by the Second Army Region shows the moment the bombs hit, with large fireballs and multiple secondary blasts visible.

Military sources confirmed all Thai aircraft returned safely and no civilian areas were affected.
