Bangkok, December 14th, 2025 – The Royal Thai Army has issued a strong condemnation of Cambodian forces following a rocket attack using BM-21 multiple launch rocket systems on a civilian community in Sisaket Province, resulting in one civilian death and damage to residential property.
According to a statement released by the Army’s Public Relations Center on Saturday, the incident occurred at approximately 11:50 a.m. on December 14th. Reports from the Second Army Region indicated that Cambodian forces fired BM-21 rockets into the Sao Thong Chai sub-district, an area described as the heart of a densely populated community near a local school.The attack claimed the life of one civilian, identified as 63-year-old Mr. Don Patchaphan, who succumbed to shrapnel injuries. Nearby homes caught fire, with at least one house completely destroyed. Details regarding additional injuries are still being verified by authorities.
The Royal Thai Army denounced the action on the international stage, describing it as the second consecutive day of Cambodian forces targeting civilian areas unrelated to military operations, leading to the death of an innocent civilian.“This incident provides clear evidence of Cambodia’s intent to violate fundamental human rights and international humanitarian law, severely impacting the lives and property of innocent civilians,” the statement read.
The attack comes amid ongoing border tensions between Thailand and Cambodia, which have seen renewed clashes in recent weeks despite previous ceasefire efforts.
