The Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) reported elevated PM2.5 levels nationwide in its hourly air-quality update released through the Check Dust application at 8:00 a.m. today (Jan 15th). Unhealthy air conditions were recorded across all regions of the country.
The update shows red-level PM2.5 concentrations in 41 provinces, indicating direct health and respiratory impacts, while 19 provinces are at the orange level, where health effects are emerging. The provinces with the highest pollution levels include Nong Khai, Bangkok, Chonburi, Samut Sakhon, Samut Prakan, Nakhon Pathom, Saraburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Pathum Thani, Samut Songkhram, and nearby areas.

In Bangkok, every district is recording PM2.5 levels above safety standards, placing the entire capital in the red category. Districts with higher pollution levels include Lat Krabang, Nong Khaem, Min Buri, Nong Chok, Bang Khae, Watthana, Bang Bon, Saphan Sung, Prawet, and Phasi Charoen. Short-term forecasts indicate high pollution levels are expected to persist, with continued health risks.
Pattaya is also seeing significant air pollution with many residents and tourists complaining that views of the ocean and nearby islands are obscured. Many residents are calling for action to be taken by relevant government agencies.
