UPDATE: Death Toll Rises to 32, Three People Missing after Crane Collapse Crushes Passenger Train in Korat

Korat –

A construction crane collapsed onto a passenger train, killing at least 32 people, injuring 64 and three people are still missing as of last night around sunset, January 14th, 2026.

A tragic accident struck Thailand’s northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima on Wednesday morning (January 14th) when a construction crane collapsed onto a passenger train, killing at least 22 people and injuring at least 64 others.

Now for the update:

Relevant authorities released the following figures as of 4:00 P.M. yesterday:

• Total passengers on the train: 208
• Passengers who disembarked earlier before the accident: 37
• Passengers who remain on board: 171
• Uninjured: 70
• Injured: 64
• Confirmed dead: 32
• Still missing: 3

The Thai Transportation Minister has called for a detailed investigation into the cause of the accident and for parties responsible to be held fully accountable under Thai law. The investigation, however, due to the scale of the incident, will take some time.
