Phuket –
Police in Cherng Talay have arrested the head of security at a hotel after he allegedly used a master key card to attempt entry into a guest’s room late at night. The incident has raised serious concerns about hotel security protocols and guest safety.
The Cherng Talay Police told the Phuket Express that the incident occurred on January 17th when a female guest, identified only as Ms. A, reported that someone tried to open the door of her room, number 2203, without permission. The intruder was unable to gain access because the guest had secured the door with an internal latch.
The victim told police that she is visiting the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) Thailand 2026. However on that night she was sick as she stayed at the hotel.

Police quickly launched an investigation and shockingly identified the suspect as Mr. Kanisorn, the hotel’s chief of security. Records showed that he had finished his shift at 4:00 p.m. but remained inside the hotel premises, staying in the staff office. Later that evening, dressed in casual clothes, he approached the guest’s room, rang the doorbell, and attempted to unlock the door using the hotel’s master key card.
After the failed intrusion, Mr. Kanisorn allegedly deleted footage from the hotel’s CCTV system in an effort to conceal his actions. However, police technicians were able to recover the deleted files, which became crucial evidence in the case.

On January 18, Cherng Talay police summoned the suspect for questioning and formally charged him under criminal case number 19/2569. Authorities also revealed that Mr. Kanisorn is facing separate civil litigation over unpaid debts.
Police stated that legal proceedings are now underway and stated that the case shows the importance of strict controls over master key access in hotels.
