Pattaya, April 7th, 2026— Mr. Poramese Ngampichet, Mayor of Pattaya, together with Mr. Kiattisak Sriwongchai, Pattaya City Clerk, participated in a nationwide virtual conference to receive policy directives from Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. The session, held via Video Conference System (VCS), followed the Royal Command appointing Anutin as Prime Minister for his second term. Provincial governors from across Thailand, along with senior officials and state enterprise employees under the Ministry of Interior, also joined the meeting.
During the briefing, the Prime Minister outlined critical guidelines for driving national administration. He stated that local administrative organizations must strengthen their operations, enhance efficiency, and place citizens at the center of all services, while dedicating full effort to public service delivery.

Anutin also addressed major situations impacting the country, including the conflict in the Middle East (involving the United States, Isreal, and Iran), which has driven up oil prices and airfares. He spoke to domestic challenges requiring close monitoring, such as political conflicts, high cost of living, drought and forest fires, and disease surveillance.
The Prime Minister stressed energy-saving measures and the promotion of flexible working arrangements, including Work From Home (WFH) and Work From Anywhere (WFA), to reduce expenses and improve work efficiency. He further instructed relevant agencies to closely monitor product sales in department stores and retail outlets to prevent price gouging.
The government is preparing to implement the “Kon La Krueng Plus” (Half Price Plus) policy to alleviate the cost-of-living burden on citizens. This will run alongside energy management efforts, particularly controlling fuel prices, and the establishment of a product pricing information center to ensure compliance with standards. Any violations must be addressed quickly and reported to the government immediately.

This policy reception session is seen as a major step in setting the direction for national administration and empowering local governments nationwide. It focuses on tackling economic, energy, and environmental crises while sustainably improving the quality of life for the Thai people.
The event was reported by Ms. Natthacha Traipipat, with photographs by Mr. Thanaphong Unmak from the Public Relations Division, Office of the Director, Pattaya Tourism and Sports Bureau.
