Foreign Couple Deported After Indecent Act on Tuk-Tuk in Patong

Phuket –

A foreign couple has been arrested and deported after engaging in a public indecent act aboard a tuk-tuk in Patong, sparking widespread condemnation and raising concerns over the image of Phuket as a premier tourist destination.

The pair, identified as a Spanish man and a Peruvian woman, admitted to the act, claiming they were “carried away by emotion.” The incident, which quickly circulated online, drew sharp criticism from locals and officials who described the behavior as disrespectful and damaging to Thailand’s reputation.

Patong Police tracked down the couple and charged them under Thai law for public indecency. Immigration authorities revoked their visas and confirmed that deportation proceedings are underway. Officials added that such conduct will not be tolerated, showing Thailand’s commitment to protecting its cultural values and safeguarding the country’s tourism image.
