A 42-year-old Thai woman has been arrested after she allegedly drove her car into her common-law husband’s motorcycle on Phahon Yothin Road in Muang district on Wednesday (May 6th, 2026), causing his death at the scene, before getting out and stamping on his face, police said.
The incident occurred around kilometre 102 on the parallel inbound lane of Phahon Yothin Road in Tambon Nong Yao, Muang Saraburi district. According to investigators and rescue workers, the victim, identified as 38-year-old Apisit (surname withheld), was riding a Yamaha Fino motorcycle when the woman, named Aree (surname withheld), pursued him in a Honda Jazz sedan and deliberately rammed into the rear of his bike.
The impact sent the man flying onto the road, where he sustained severe injuries, including a broken right leg and abrasions. Rescue personnel performed CPR, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witness accounts and dashboard camera footage captured the sequence: after the collision, the woman stopped her car a short distance away, walked back to the victim, and reportedly stamped on his face while he lay injured before fleeing the scene by flagging down a passing vehicle. Her abandoned sedan remained at the location.
Later, Aree surrendered to police at Muang Saraburi station. During interrogation, she admitted to the act, citing deep resentment over financial disputes and feelings of betrayal. The couple had been living together as common-law partners for about eight months. She claimed to have spent roughly one million baht supporting him and his child from a previous relationship, only for him to begin distancing himself as her money ran out. Arguments escalated, and he reportedly stopped answering calls or returning home.
Thai media reports describe the woman as having “spoiled” her partner financially before the relationship soured. Her sister-in-law (the victim’s sister) provided additional context, confirming the troubled dynamic.
Police have charged the suspect with intentional murder and other related offences. She has reportedly confessed and assisted in a crime scene reconstruction. The case remains under active investigation.
