Bangkok, Thailand– New footage has emerged showing the dramatic moment a train slammed into a public bus stranded on a railway crossing, in a deadly accident that has claimed at least eight lives and left 25 others injured.
The incident occurred when the bus was found parked straddling the railway tracks. According to preliminary investigations, the level crossing barriers failed to descend and block the tracks, allowing the train to collide with the bus at high speed.
Images released from another angle clearly capture the train hurtling toward the bus and the impact on the crossing.

Bangkok Governor Chatchart Sittipunt and Deputy Minister of Transport Siripong Angkasakulkiat rushed to the scene to inspect the site, oversee rescue and recovery operations, and coordinate with relevant agencies.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash, with focus on the malfunctioning barriers and the circumstances that left the bus positioned across the tracks. Further updates on the victims’ identities and the exact sequence of events are expected as the probe progresses.
The accident has caused renewed calls for improved safety measures at Thailand’s railway crossings.
