AYUTTHAYA, Thailand – A tree snapped and fell onto a group of tourists inside Wat Phra Si Sanphet on Sunday, injuring four Spanish visitors.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. local time on August 16th, 2026, within the grounds of the historic temple in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya district.
Rescue volunteers and local officials quickly assisted the injured. The four victims, one man and three women, were transported to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Hospital for treatment.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the tree collapse. Additional details on the condition of the injured tourists were not immediately available.
