One instantly killed, two injured after being run over by construction truck on Bangkok road this morning

Bangkok –

A male driver, 27, was killed instantly while his family members were injured after a construction truck ran over his sedan and into five other vehicles in the Minburi District, Bangkok, this morning, September 23.

An onlooker told the Minburi district police that the semi-trailer truck was trying to emergency park in the middle lane before instantly swaying back and forth, losing control, and uncontrollably colliding and overtaking onto the victim’s vehicle, causing a 7-car crash in the lane. The name of the victim was not released to the press. He had been commuting with his parents, who survived the incident.

The parents of the victim were rushed to a nearby hospital as soon as a team of rescue volunteers was alerted of the accident while truck driver Piean Sricharoen was detained at the Minburi police station afterward.

The forty-one-year-old driver claimed that his truck was experiencing a bad brake booster while driving back from Saraburi. He then attempted to emergency park the truck to check the booster and found that the booster vacuum was still sufficiently supplied before getting back in the truck and continue driving.

Unfortunately, the semi-truck reportedly began to lose balance and eventually caused the shockingly fatal accident.

The investigators are in the process of questioning the witness, meanwhile, the truck driver has been initially charged for reckless driving causing the death of others, and will be taken to a legal proceeding.
