The Royal Thai Police are reportedly conducting an investigation for evidence following a credible rumor stating that the Red Bull heir, Vorayuth Yoovidhya (Boss), wanted in Thailand in connection with various charges relating to a fatal 2012 hit and run incident, is currently living in Dubai.
This follows an Interpol red notice officially being filed for the suspect last week.
Police Major General Yingyot Thepchamnong, the spokesman of the Royal Thai Police, revealed at a press brifing on October 11 that the Thai police authorities have not yet received a confirmation if fugitive Red Bull heir Vorayuth “Boss” Yoovidhya has been discreetly living in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, as a rumor had spread over the last week.
However, the Thai authorities will have the chief of a working group formed to help capture Vorayuth initially investigate regarding the matter and have them send a coordination letter to the embassy of the United Arab Emirates to inquire whether the fugitive suspect resides in the country.
They will also clarify it publically this Wednesday if there is some progress of the Royal Thai Police group’s findings, the spokesman stressed.
The spokesman told the press: “According to the Interpol process, if the accused is found in any member country in the Interpol country lists, the national police there must notify the country who issued the Interpol red notice. But we have not yet had confirmation by Dubai authorities if Boss was actually living there.”
“But we will examine further regarding this matter to prove whether the rumor is true or false. Initially, we have sent a coordination letter to the embassy of the United Arab Emirates to investigate and confirm to the Thai authorities whether Boss is staying in the country.”
“We will clarify the rumor as well as will hopefully update some findings to the Thai media this Wednesday if the investigation shows some positive progress.” He concluded.
