Group of 80 employees arrested across Thailand for allegedly operating five illegal online gambling website, with circulating fund of more than 33 million USD

Bangkok – A batch of more than 80 alleged offenders were arrested yesterday, December 8th, in Sa Kaeo, Bangkok, and Nakhon Ratchasima provinces for allegedly operating more than five illegal online gambling websites in Thailand, with a circulating fund of more than 33 million USD. Police General Damrongsak Kittiprapat along with officials from the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD) announced a major raid at four alleged online gambling offices across the country following the Criminal Court’s search warrants issued on December 7th. TCSD official team raided the first office located in the Aranyaprathet district of Sa Kaeo province, where it was described in the warrant as a workplace for employees to answer customer questions through the chatbox of an online gambling website, Lucabet 888. Website moderator Itthidej Khamkrung, 25, and another 76 employees were captured at the scene. A total of 45 computers, 10 notebooks, and 90 computer monitors were also discovered and confiscated by the authorities. The second office-based location was observed at two commercial buildings located in the Don Mueang district of Bangkok on the same day. As it was not working hours, the buildings, registered as Net Winner Group Co. Ltd, was only occupied with 2 programmers and a housewife along with thirty computers. The third home office was also located in Don Mueang district and was being investigated as the homeowner, whose name was not revealed to the press, was believed to be one of the website operators. Four luxury vehicles, including a Toyota Alphard, Benz GLC250 SUV, and two Porsche sedans, and proof of financial statements related to an online gambling website was also found at the house. A final warrant led to the raid of a house in Phra Thongkham district of Nakhon Ratchasima province, where a female suspect was discovered along with alleged proof of financial statements related to an online gambling website. Police General Damrongsak further revealed that all of the belongings of 5 computers, 10 notebooks, 90 computer monitors, 4 luxury cars, and countless mobile phones and sim cards were confiscated while a total of 80 suspects were taken to the TCSD department for questioning.
