Phuket –
A Nigerian national, 26, was arrested in the Patong area of Phuket island last Tuesday, January 19th, while reportedly delivering packages of narcotic drugs to a client at their apartment.
The arrest followed a tip-off from a concerned citizen that there would be drug trading from an African foreigner at Soi Nanai 8 on Tuesday evening. The police then arrived and discovered the suspect in front of a building in Kathu District.
David Smith Chinazaekpere Ejiogo was captured and allegedly had 1.25 grams of crystal methamphetamine, six bags of 1.50 grams of cocaine, and four bags of 1.40 grams of ecstasy. He was taken to Patong Police Station for interrogation.
He reportedly confessed to the officers, claiming that he received the drugs from his Asian friend, whose real name was not exposed, in the Bang Tao area of Thalang District before distributing them to his customers on the island.
Initially, David was detained at the police station for legal proceedings and charged for illegally possessing and distributing category 1 (crystal methamphetamine and ecstasy) and category 2 (cocaine) narcotic drugs.
