16 sacks of narcotics drugs suspiciously found in abandoned pickup truck at Thailand-Myanmar border in Chiang Rai

Border police control discovered a total of 16 sacks of narcotics drugs in an abandoned pickup truck in the Mae Sai district of Chiang Rai province at the early hours of this morning, January 24th.

A team from the NBNCM OC Army Mobile Delivery arrived at the Thailand-Myanmar border area in Mae Sai district this morning for inspection after being alerted of drug smuggling activities.

A suspicious vehicle was observed at the scene. A bag of crystal meth packed in a green tea bag named “Guanyinwang”, meth pills packed in a bag named “R35 Sports Sedan”, and 16 bags of orange and green pills, stamped with WY brand, were discovered in the truck.

No suspicious driver nor vehicle owner was spotted nearby the scene, according to the police. All of the drugs found at the scene were confiscated for expanding an investigation to track down the possible culprits.
