RECAP: Thailand reports 781 domestic infections among 802 new Covid-19 cases in past 24 hours, with vast majority in Samut Sakhon

Thailand found 781 domestic infections among a number of 802 new Covid-19 Coronavirus cases, with a vast majority in Samut Sakhon during active case findings, CCSA spokesperson Taweesin Visanuyuthin announced this morning, January 29th.

About 692 of today’s infections were found during active case finding in major factories mainly in Samut Sakhon with 686. A small number of cases were found in Bangkok with 3, Nonthaburi 1, Sa Kaeo 1, and Rayong 1. They are now at state quarantine and field hospitals under the supervision of provincial public health authorities with no exposure to the general population.

A number of 89 domestic cases were discovered in Samut Sakhon with 79, Bangkok 7, Ayutthaya 2, and Ang Thong 1. Most of them are asymptomatic, according to the spokesperson.

More importantly, the CCSA also announced the easing of Covid-19 restrictions in all provinces in Thailand after the CCSA general meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister, had finalized this morning.
