Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health revealed a plan to distribute the first batch of Sinovac Covid-19 vaccinations doses in 10 provinces, particularly in the previously-declared highest and strictest controlled areas.

Dr. Sopon Iamsirithaworn, Deputy Director of the Department of Disease Control, told the Associated Press yesterday, February 11th, that the National Vaccine Commission has drafted a plan for the 2 million doses for both public and private hospitals in Samut Sakhon, Bangkok, Samut Prakan, Nonthaburi, Prathum Thani, Rayong, Chonburi, Chanthaburi, Trat, and Tak.

The first batch of 820,000 is to go to the highest control areas of Samut Sakhon, to cover nearly 400,000 medical officials, chronically ill patients, and seniors above the age of 60.

The other 800,000 doses will be distributed in Bangkok for similar individuals while the other 26,000 doses will go to Nonthaburi for 13,000 people, 26,000 doses will go to Prathum Thani for 13,000 people, 28,000 doses will go to Samut Prakan for 14,000 people, and 160,000 doses will go to Tak for 80,000 people.

For the Eastern regions, about 18,000 doses will be delivered in Rayong for 9,000 people, 28,000 doses will be in Chonburi for 14,000 people, 16,000 doses will be in Chanthaburi for 8,000 people, and 12,000 doses will go to Trat for 6,000 people.

These will be primarily for health care workers, vulnerable people and at risk.

“A total of 1,934,000 Covid-19 vaccines will be distributed in the first lot to 967,000 people across the country. The remaining 66,000 shots for 33,000 people will be spares for an emergency situation in case there is a possible outbreak in the future,” the Deputy Director concluded.
