Thailand’s Transport Company Limited grants full ticket refund for passengers who wish to cancel their tickets during Songkran, following Transport Ministry order

National –

Thailand’s Transport Company Limited yesterday, April 7th, announced a full refund of bus tickets traveling between April 8th to the 18th to those who wish to cancel their tickets purchased before the Songkran holiday, following the order of the Transport Ministry.

Transport President Sanyalux Panwattanalikit revealed to the press that the move was ordered by the Transport Ministry and aimed to reduce the spread of Covid-19 Coronavirus after a new wave occurred at entertainment venues in Bangkok’s Thong Lo area, resulting in a rocketing number of domestic infections.

the Transport Company Limited, therefore, granted a full fare refund to all passengers who wish to cancel their tickets traveling scheduled between 8 to 18 April. Customers can proceed with the refund procedures or postpone the travel date at any bus station at least 3 hours prior to the departure time.

However, customers who purchased using government stimulus campaigns, such as “Rao Rak Gun” and “We Win”, will not be able to request a full refund but can have their ticket postponed.

According to the latest record, about 738 passengers out of a total number of 26,582 seats had requested the refund, particularly 214 in the North, 394 in the Northeast, and 130 in the South.

Sanyalux also stressed that the company had strictly ordered its officials to tighten health measures to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus at every passenger terminal and onboard. Passengers are required to wear a face mask at all times while using the service as well as to register via the Thai-Chana application every time they use the service.
