RECAP: Thailand discovers 1,441 new Covid-19 domestic infections with four additional deaths with underlying diseases in past 24 hours

Thailand reported 1,441 domestic infections among a total of 1,443 new Covid-19 Coronavirus daily cases with four additional deaths in the past 24 hours, CCSA spokesperson Taweesilp Visanuyothin announced this morning, April 20th.

The fatalities were a 78-year-old bedridden woman from Bangkok with underlying conditions of high blood pressure and thyroid disease; a 78-year-old male vendor from Bangkok with underlying conditions of diabetes and high blood pressure; an 86-year-old Indian national who is a bedridden female patient with an underlying disease of thyroid disease; and a 30-year-old Thai man from Bangkok with an underlying condition of obesity.

Regarding domestic infections, the first group of 349 local infections was discovered in Bangkok. 54 of them were reportedly connected to entertainment venues, 31 were from community markets and villages, and the other 264 infections were connected to other risky places.

The second group includes 218 cases that were reported in Bangkok’s vicinity. five of them were reportedly connected to entertainment venues, five were from community markets and villages, and the other 208 cases were connected to other risky places.

The last group includes 874 domestic infections that were found in other provinces. 87 of them were connected to entertainment venues, 60 were from community markets and villages, and 727 of them were connected to other risky places. The majority of the group was discovered in Chiang Mai alone with 116 infections, followed by Chonburi with 82, Samut Prakan with 60, and Pathum Thani with 57.

As of today, 171 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 45,185 cases with 28,958 recoveries and a total of 108 deaths since the start of the pandemic. About 35,900 people received their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccination and another 11,727 people received their second shot yesterday, marking a total number of 666,210 vaccinated people in Thailand who have received at least one dose of a vaccine.
