Four men were arrested by Phattalung police this morning, May 25th, after reportedly brutally killing by strangulation and throwing the body of their 35-year-old relative into a large body of water in the Khuan Khanun district of Phatthalung province last Saturday, May 22nd.

The body of Worawit Chuaymak was discovered on Saturday, May 22nd, by a local fisherman who went fishing at a bridge. The body of Mr. Chuaymak was found bound tightly by rope on his hands and legs. The Phattalung police then began their investigation after being alerted by the local fisherman.

Four suspects who were all confirmed to be relatives of the deceased were arrested. They were the deceased’s uncles Weeradet Chuaymak, 43, and Somkid Chuaymok, 54, his uncle-in-law Somkiat Waraphan, 44, and his cousin Warakorn Rodniam, 36.

According to their statement, Worawit was reportedly arguing and fighting with his cousin Warakorn when Somkiat and Weeradet, who had reportedly just been released from prison over drug abuse, had rushed to the scene to stop the fight.

The three reportedly tied Worawit’s hands and legs before strangling him with a rope. The suspects then called the uncle-in-law to allegedly move the body with his pick-up truck before throwing it into a large body of water.

His behavior became intolerable towards his family and relatives.
