Trat –

One person is still missing while another was rescued and survived after strong wind and waves from recent strong storms hit and capsized a speedboat in Koh Chang, Trat this morning.

The Koh Chang district chief, Chatchai Thonglee, was notified this morning around 9:00 A.M. (May 27th) that a small speedboat had been capsized by a strong wave near Klong Prao Beach and two people were missing.

Rescue workers and officers from the national park service and relevant marine agencies were sent to search for the missing people. One person was rescued while another was still missing. Their names were not immediately released to the associated press.

Heavy rain last night has also caused a flash flood near the Kiripetch Mountain area and flooded a village in the South of Koh Chang.

Tourists are being warned not to go into the sea as well as small boats are banned by related marine agencies from currently taking to the ocean.
