Thailand-
Thailand reported 5,477 new domestic cases with 44 confirmed cases at prisons as well as 12 imported cases, marking a total of 5,533 daily infections, with 57 additional deaths in the past 24 hours.
This makes a total of 235,971 cases of Covid-19 since the start of this recent round of infections in early April.
Additionally, 183,276 people in total have now been released from medical care and fully recovered since this current wave began. 3,223 people were released yesterday. The chart below shows total cases and recoveries since the original outbreak last year, however.
Among the local 5,477 new domestic cases, excluding the cases in the prisons, the highest number of infections listed by provinces was discovered in Bangkok with 1,960, Samut Prakan with 435, Pathum Thani with 321, Samut Sakorn with 298, and Songkhla with 272.
The fatalities were 30 men and 27 women (54 Thais, 1 Cambodian, 1 Pakistani, and 1 Indian) aged between 30-94.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, high levels of fats in the blood, kidney disease, strokes, lung disease, cancers, obesity, and SLE (a disease in which the immune system attacks its own tissues).
Three of them did not reportedly have any health conditions.
A total of 9,927,698 doses of Covid-19 vaccines in Thailand have been given so far with 200, 685 first doses given yesterday and 54,307 second doses.
