Phuket stages “The Colourful Phuket Bring Back the Happiness” Festival, featuring engaging activities to reinvigorate tourism

Phuket –

Thailand’s Ministry of Tourism, together with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Phuket authorities, has launched “The Colourful Phuket Bring Back the Happiness” Festival to revive engaging activities and the tourism atmosphere on the island under the Phuket Sandbox project, starting today, July 4th.

The festival featured entertaining programs of fireworks, live music, performance, sea sports, art installations, and food trucks which will be organized at Phuket’s most famous beach of Patong Beach through the end of July.

Nat Krutsuot, TAT’s Creative Activities Division Director, revealed that the event was aimed to promote the tourism economy in Phuket and show its readiness to reopen the country for vaccinated tourists without quarantine.

“Phuket is a pilot area for the country’s reopening under the specified conditions and measures. This includes a requirement to stay at least 14 nights at SHAPlus-certified hotels or accommodations in Phuket. The festival will also be staged under strict health measures to reduce the risk and prevent the spread of Covid-19,” he stated.

It is estimated that there would be approximately 548,600 tourists participating in the festival, generating approximately 5,510 million baht income, according to the authorities.

“The Colourful Phuket Bring Back the Happiness” Festival will then run to the following schedule, at different locations around the island:

Week 1 (3-9 July): Colourful art installations and recycled art displays at Patong Beach and the Old Town District along with local food trucks and mini-concerts.

Week 2 (10-16 July): Surf and sea sports activities with colorful photogenic displays and great beach vibes at Kata Beach, and sunset yoga at Promthep Cape.

Week 3 (17-23 July): Digital art installations and street music at Patong Beach.

Week 4 (24-31 July): Projection mapping art and street music at the Old Town District.

‘Colourful Phuket’ Festival features a full month of food, music, and street art
