Bangkok –

The “Thalu Fah” pro-democracy group staged a peaceful car march this morning, August 20th, to three embassies in Bangkok to submit letters related to political movement cases in Thailand.

The protesters gathered at the Victory Monument at around 10:00 AM. before heading to the Embassy of Switzerland on Witthayu Road. They arrived at the first destination an hour later to submit a letter complaining whether the unnecessary use of Thai government officials’ forces to disperse the protesters is against Switzerland’s Treaty of Geneva, according to their statement. The letter was handed to a representative of the embassy.

The group then went to the U.S. embassy at 1:00 PM. to demand the country’s authorities to closely monitor the Thai government’s distribution of the U.S-donated Pfizer vaccines as they claimed that the government allegedly distributed vaccines to military personnel instead of frontline medical personnel as promised to the U.S. government. An embassy representative then came to receive the letter from the protesters.

At 3:00 PM., they headed to the third destination at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to submit the last letter, asking the Chinese government’s investigation on the country’s procurement of 24.55 million doses of Sinovac vaccine from the Sinovac Biotech private company as they are low-quality vaccines that cannot cope with the spread of COVID-19’s Delta variant, according to their statement.

The letter was submitted to security personnel at the Embassy before they peacefully called off the gathering.

TPN media notes that for the sixth day in a row a group of unrelated protesters once again confronted and conflicted with police around the Din Daeng intersection late this afternoon and into the evening. However, this group is not associated with “Thalu Fah” and appears to be a different, hardline group of mainly Thai teenagers.
