Domestic flights to return to business in 29 dark-red zone provinces with disease control measures, starting September 1st

The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has approved the flight operations in 29 provinces of the dark-red zone areas under the disease control restrictions and measures of the destination province, effective from September 1st.

The announcement came after the CCSA general meeting’s approval of inter-provincial travel among 29 dark-red zone provinces on August 27th. However, all passengers must strictly comply with the provincial control measures of the destination province as follows:

Phitsanulok and Chumphon – travelers must download and register a tracking application and must be quarantined for 14 days.

Phuket and Krabi – travelers must download and register the tracking application and must present the negative results of the Covid-19 RT-PCR test or ATK that is screened by doctors and the full vaccination certificate or proof that one has been infected by less than 90 days.

Hua Hin and Trang – travelers must download and register the tracking application and must present the full vaccination certificate or proof that one has never been infected by less than 90 days.

Phrae, Nan, Sakon Nakhon, Udon Thani, Chiang Mai, and Buriram – travelers must download and register the tracking application and must present the full vaccination certificate. They may be selected to go through health screening again at the destination airports.

Khon Kaen, Ubon Ratchathani, and Lampang – travelers must download and register the tracking application and must present the full vaccination certificate and the negative results of the Covid-19 RT-PCR test.

Chiang Rai, Hat Yai, Nakhon Phanom, and Nakhon Si Thammarat – travelers must download and register the tracking application and must present the full vaccination certificate and the negative results of the Covid-19 RT-PCR test or ATK that is screened by doctors.

Ranong – travelers must download and register the tracking application and must present the full vaccination certificate and the negative results of the Covid-19 RT-PCR test or ATK that is screened by doctors.

Surat Thani – travelers must download and register the tracking application.

Bangkok (Don Mueang Suvarnabhumi), Narathiwat, and U Tapao Airport – no specific screening measures are required. This includes Chonburi.

Additionally, airlines are allowed to extend the number of passengers per flight from 50 percent to 70 percent of the flight’s capacity to reduce the ticket price for passengers. Food and drink services onboard is still prohibited and masks must be worn at all times.
