Thailand discovered a total of 7,679 daily Covid-19 infections with 56 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, November 3rd.
The fatalities were 28 men and 28 women with the most numbers recorded in Bangkok with 7. 53 of them were Thai nationals, two were Myanmar nationals, and one was unidentified. The age range was between 37 and 94 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (35), diabetes (18), hyperlipidemia (13), obesity (6), and kidney disease (5). One of the fatalities was a bedridden patient.
Of the new cases, 6,864 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 272 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 536 were from prisons, and the remaining 7 were imported cases.
A number of 97,585 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 2,205 patients are in critical condition including 483 on ventilators. This is roughly 2.25 percent of cases that are critical while 21.9 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 772, followed by Pattani with 484, Songkhla with 454, Yala with 326, Chonburi with 324, and Chiang Mai with 322.
A total number of 787,976 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 267,117 people had received their first shots, 485,778 people had received their second shots, and 35,081 people had received their third shots. This is roughly 59.4% of the total Thai population who have had their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccine, 44.0% who have had a second shot and are fully vaccinated, and 3.4% have had a third booster shot.
As of today, 8,482 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 1,935,442 cases with 1,818,463 recoveries and a total of 19,394 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
