More than 90 percent of Thai students nationwide, aged 12-18 years old, vaccinated with at least their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, Thai government reports today

More than 90 percent of students, aged between 12 and 18 years old, have received at least a first dose of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine, government spokesperson Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana revealed today, November 23rd.

According to his reports, 4,062,239 out of a total of 5,085,460 students have applied for a Covid-19 vaccination, with parental consent, since the kickoff of a student vaccination program on October 4th. The number of students who have received the first dose of vaccination is 3,686,476 people, accountable for 90.75 percent, and about 1,674,270, or 41.22 percent, have received a second dose of the mRNA vaccines.

When categorized by region, the number of students who have completed the complete vaccination are as follows: Northeastern region with 480,952 students, Central region with 447,450 students, Southern region with 331,020 students, Eastern region with 173,032 students, Northern region with 169,884 students, and Western region with 71,932 students.

Meanwhile, Bang Sue Grand Station in Bangkok has extended its Pfizer Covid-19 vaccination service for informal students or students who have not yet been vaccinated until December 7th. The service will accept walk-in applicants aged 12-18 years, both Thai and foreign students, who are accompanied by their parent(s) and/or legal representative(s).

TPN media notes that vaccines are NOT mandated for in-person schooling, although were strongly suggested by Thai doctors.
