Thailand discovered a total of 10,470 daily Covid-19 infections with 12 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, February 7th.
The fatalities were 3 men and 9 women. 11 of them were Thai nationals and one was an Austrian national. The age range was between 38 and 88 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (8), diabetes (4), hyperlipidemia (4), obesity (2), and kidney disease (4). Two of the fatalities were bedridden patients.
Of the new cases, 10,255 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 45 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 4 were from prisons, and the remaining 166 were imported cases.
A number of 92,784 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 535 patients are in critical condition including 102 on ventilators. This is roughly 0.57 percent of cases that are critical while 19.0 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest number of patients were reported in Bangkok with 1,391, followed by Samut Prakan with 962, Chonburi with 545, Nonthaburi with 474, Phuket with 436, and Nakhon Pathom with 274.
A total number of 216,538 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 11,063 people had received their first shots, 15,217 people had received their second shots, and 109,258 people had received their third shots. This is roughly 75.5% of the total Thai population who have had their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccine, 70.4% who have had a second shot and are fully vaccinated, and 22.5% have had a third booster shot.
As of today, 8,711 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 2,507,471 cases with 2,392,384 recoveries and a total of 22,303 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
