Thailand reports 18,885 daily Covid-19 infections with 29 additional deaths

Thailand reported 18,554 domestic cases of Covid-19 with 107 confirmed cases at prisons as well as 224 imported cases, marking a total of daily infections, with 29 additional deaths in the past 24 hours.

This makes a total of 469,927 cases of Covid-19 since the start of this recent round of infections at the beginning of this year, January 2022.

Additionally, 344,775 people in total have now been released from medical care and fully recovered since this current wave began. 10,946 people were released yesterday. The chart below shows the total cases and recoveries since the start of this recent round of infections at the beginning of this year, January 2022.

Among 18,554 local new domestic cases, excluding the cases in the prisons, the highest number of infections listed by provinces was discovered in ฺBangkok with 3,168, Samut Prakan with 974, Chonburi with 973, Nonthaburi with 770, and Nakhon Ratchasima with 578.

The fatalities were 16 men and 13 women (28 Thais, 1 Myanmar) with an average age between 26 to 94. 97  percent of them had prior health issues or were elderly.

Four of them reportedly had previous chronic health problems. One of them was aged more than 60.

Thailand has a total of 121,300,004 vaccines given, with 81,794 first jabs, 61,413-second doses, and 231,984 third doses given yesterday.
