Thai Government spokesperson, Thanakorn Wangboonkongchan, tests positive for Covid-19 today

Bangkok –

Government spokesperson Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana announced that he tested positive for the Covid-19 Coronavirus with the RT-PCR method today, March 27th.

According to his statement as of 1:45 PM., the spokesperson was having mild to no symptoms, just only body-ache.

“I apologize to everyone for the inconvenience. And, in accordance with public health measures, I’ll comply with the Work from Home rules while during quarantine and would report news and answer the media questions via Line application and by phone as usual,” he stated.

When being asked if Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O’Cha was in a high-risk group and needed a quarantine, the working group said that the spokesperson had not been in a close contact with the Prime Minister in the past 4 days. Therefore, he was not considered in a high risk group and would not be in quarantine.
