Thailand reported a total of 25,139 daily Covid-19 infections with 108 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced today, April 10th.
The fatalities were 61 men, 47 women with the highest rate in Bangkok with 17. All of them were Thai nationals. The age range was between 5 and 105 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including cancer (7), kidney disease (34), obesity (5), stroke (13), and heart disease (17). 10 of the fatalities were bedridden patients.
Of the new cases, 24,746 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 246 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 80 were from prisons, and the remaining 67 were imported cases.
A number of 250,973 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 1,993 patients are in critical condition including 848 on ventilators. This is roughly 0.79 percent of cases that are critical while 42.54 percent of that are critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest number of patients were reported in Bangkok with 3,108, followed by Chonburi with 1,290, Khon Kaen with 851, Nakhon Sri Thammarat with 827, Samut Prakan with 795, and Samut Sakhon with 696.
A total number of 291,290 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 58,868 people had received their first shots, 64,475 people had received their second shots, and 167,947 people had received their third shots. This is roughly 80.4% of the total Thai population who have had their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccine, 72.7% who have had a second shot and are fully vaccinated, and 35.5% have had a third booster shot.
As of today, 25,509 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 3,883,485 cases with 3,606,429 recoveries and a total of 26,083 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
