Thai Transport Company says they are ready for expected massive return of people to Bangkok after Songkran

  The Transport Company of Thailand is readying vehicles for the impending trips back to Bangkok while reporting that 70,000 people returned to their home provinces for the Songkran Thai New Year Festival on April 12th.   

Yesterday, April 13th, Mr. Sanlak Panwattanalikit, Managing Director of the Transport Company Limited, revealed nearly 70,327 people had used their transportation services so far with a recorded 3,031 trips out of Bangkok (around 42,769 passengers) and 2,888 trips into Bangkok (around 27,558 people). He also said that there would still be vehicles on standby for those who wanted to travel to provinces near Bangkok such as Nakhon Ratchasima, Kanchanaburi, Saraburi and Chonburi.           

On April 16th-18th, Mr. Sanlak expected to see an average of 38,000 passengers daily, so the company is currently preparing its vehicles to accept passengers. Passengers are encouraged to book a ticket in advance via the E-Ticket application and the Transport Company Limited’s website to maintain a social distance. To comply with the preventive Covid-19 regulation, all drivers will undergo rapid Covid-19 testing as well as drug and alcohol testing.
