A famous Thai politician, Prinn Panitchpakdi, was accused by an 18-year-old woman of sexual harassment while three other women allegedly pressed charges against him for the same reason. He is denying the charges.
On April 13th, Sittra Biaengkerd, a well-known Thai lawyer and social media influencer, revealed on his Facebook page about an 18-year-old woman who reached out to him and claimed she was sexually harassed by a famous anonymous Thai politician. According to the lawyer, the victim was lured into going to a restaurant with the accused to learn about economics and stock-trading but she was sexually assaulted eventually.
Later, Prinn Panitchpakdi, the accused politician, held a press conference yesterday, April 14th, to demonstrate his innocence and resign from his party because he did not want his personal matter to affect the party. According to the associated reporters, Prinn was still in denial of every accusation and affirmed that he was ready to prove himself in the justice system. When asked about the restaurant discussion, he admitted that he went there with the victim but it opened at 05.00 p.m. and was very crowded at that time. He was shocked when he realized what had happened and claimed it was all a misunderstanding.
According to the lawyer, he claimed that the accused had an old history of sexual harrasments in London, but he used his father’s influence to have it removed from the internet.
As of now, three other victims including an 18-year-old woman allegedly pressed charges against him.
