Thailand reported a total of 14,887 daily Covid-19 infections with 125 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced today, April 27th.
The fatalities were 74 men and 51 women with the highest rate in Bangkok with 17. 124 of them were Thai nationals and one was a British national. The age range was between 1 and 100 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including cancer (7), kidney disease (40), obesity (2), stroke (16), and heart disease (18). 13 of the fatalities were bedridden patients.
Of the new cases, 14,747 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 24 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 45 were from prisons, and the remaining 71 were imported cases.
A number of 162,967 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 1,822 patients are in critical condition including 850 on ventilators. This is roughly 1.11 percent of cases that are critical while 46.6 percent of that are critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest number of patients were reported in Bangkok with 3,292, followed by Khon Kaen with 687, Si Saket with 610, Buriram with 537, Chonburi with 533, and Samut Prakan with 452.
A total number of 132,459 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 21,514 people had received their first shots, 46,860 people had received their second shots, and 64,085 people had received their third shots. This is roughly 80.8% of the total Thai population who have had their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccine, 73.4% who have had a second shot and are fully vaccinated, and 36.8% have had a third booster shot.
As of today, 18,919 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 4,209,571 cases with 3,018,460 recoveries and a total of 28,144 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
