Three hundred thousand tourists arrive in Thailand after removing Test&GO, government spokesperson says

The Thai government spokesperson revealed yesterday, May 9th, that over three hundred thousand tourists have arrived in Thailand since the removal of Test and Go on May 1st. 

According to the government spokesperson, Mr. Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, the Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha was delighted by an influx of over three hundred thousand international tourists who arrived in the kingdom over the past week following the removal of the unpopular Test and Go on May 1st by the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration or CCSA.

Moreover, another three hundred thousand tourists are anticipated to visit Thailand monthly from May to September while at the end of the year from October to December, which is a high season, we may see up to one million tourists monthly, Mr. Thanakorn stated.   

“The Prime Minister has already instructed all relevant departments and tourism operators to prepare for the forthcoming influx of tourists. The employers should train their employees in terms of developing tourism-related skills. However, he also suggested citizens and tourists to cope with the Covid-19 regulations for a safe and enjoyable trip.”
