Four police officers were transferred and likely faced an investigation by a special committee after arresting a 56-year-old woman in her rental room for possessing one cannabis plant. The woman received temporary bail and was released from jail.

A 56-year-old woman was arrested and jailed for one day by Sri Racha police for possessing one cannabis plant, allegedly for medical purposes. Her 55-year-old husband reportedly needed to borrow money to bail her out.

Yesterday, May 31st, Pol. Maj. Gen. Chaipotjan Suwannarak, the spokesperson from the Provincial Police Region Two, revealed that the commander of the four officers had previously instructed all officers to use jurisprudence and compromise in enforcing the law, especially around marijuana due to changing laws later this month. The four officers, however, violated this order, so as a result, they would be transferred from the Sri Racha Police Station to the Chonburi Provincial Police Station under the supervision of a senior officer to await a possible investigation by a special committee until further notice.
The 56-year-old woman who was arrested received temporary bail at 3 p.m. yesterday, May 31st after the prosecutor dropped the prosecution but needed to report to the court on July 18th. She reconvened with her 55-year-old husband and thanked Chonburi MP Kwanlert Panichmat for his sympathy.
