UPDATE: Second explosion at railway in Songkhla causes three deaths, four people injured

Songkhla –

  A second explosion this morning (December 6th) about 300 meters from the scene at the railway in Sadao district has caused three deaths and caused four people to be injured.

Our previous story:

A bomb planted on the railway caused a freight train derailment in the Sadao district on Saturday, December 3rd. No injuries were reported.

Songkhla police are hunting for suspected insurgents who set off a bomb to derail a freight train in Songkhla’s Sadao district on Saturday, December 3rd.

Now for the update:

At 6:30 A.M. this morning it has been reported that a second bomb exploded about 300 meters away from the first blast at the railway.

Three railway staffers who were fixing the railway were reportedly killed and at least four others were injured. Relevant officers are now investigating the incident.

Mr. Jesada Jitrat, Governor of Songkhla Province, confirmed to the media shortly ago that from the incident, three people died, including Mr. Yingsak Chumtree, an employee, Mr. Nawarit Suwanchatri, an employee of Hat Yai Locomotive District, and Mr. Phumpan Petchsuk, an assistant inspector of Hat Yai Locomotive District.
