UPDATE: Captain of Thai Policemen Accused of Extorting Taiwanese Actress Transferred

The chief of the Huai Khwang police station where seven policemen were accused of extorting 27,000 baht from a Taiwanese actress has been transferred, pending an investigation of his subordinates.

First our previous story:

Whistleblowing former politician Chuwit Kamolvisit posted on his Facebook wall that Thai police did extort money from a Taiwanese actress and her friends, adding if the police continued to lie and blame the victim, he would expose them with evidence.

Now for our update:

Pol. Maj. Gen. Archayon Kraithong, spokesman for the Royal Thai Police, revealed on Monday, January 30th, that national police chief Pol. Gen. Damrongsak Kittiprapas had urgently ordered the chief of the Huai Khwang police station to be transferred to the Metropolitan Police Bureau (MPB).

The police station chief, Pol. Col. Yingyos Suwanno, was transferred, pending a probe into the shakedown claim of a Taiwanese actress, Charlene An, which reportedly involved seven policemen from the Huai Khwang police station.

The national police chief also stressed to all police officers to transparently perform their duties, especially when they were working at the checkpoints.
