Now for the update:
Mr. Napadol Arwutthakamprecha, the registrar of the Bureau of Tourism Business and Guide Registration Southern Region 2 (Phuket) told the Phuket Express “The tour company has offended the Tourism Business and Guide Act. The individual involved was a direct employee of the company and the company is responsible for their actions, even if they initially tried to distance themselves from the matter.”
“They have caused severe damage to the good morality and culture of Thailand. The tour company registration license will be suspended for six months starting from Tuesday February 7th,” Mr. Napadol added.
“In addition, a tour operator must not do anything that damages the tourism industry, tourism places, and tourists or they could be fined up to 500,000 baht. It is being considered with this tour company for how much they could be fined in this case,” Mr. Napadol noted.
The name of the company was still being officially withheld pending decisions to be made on fines.
