Narathiwat —

A Thai police sergeant major was arrested in the southern province of Narathiwat after allegedly shooting his wife to death and injuring her friend.

The outlaw cop was identified as police Sergeant Major Abdulashi bin Mama, 36. He was nabbed by Narathiwat Police in relation to an arrest warrant issued on February 15th by the Narathiwat Provincial Court on charges of premeditated murder and carrying a firearm in public without permission.

Arresting officers apprehended the suspect at his dwelling in the Mueang district of Narathiwat. According to them, the violent cop shot his wife, 32-year-old Ms. Badariyah Je Useng, in the chest while she was riding a motorcycle to a local market. The victim succumbed to her fatal injuries on the spot.

Her pillion-riding friend, 32-year-old Ms. Nusan Hayemaming, was shot in the cheek one time and suffered critical injuries. She is recovering at a local hospital, according to police.

Sergeant Major Abdulashi was often seen quarreling with his wife due to jealousy and personal affairs, the police said. On the day of the incident, the accused followed his wife and her friend until they reached a deserted spot and opened fire at them, according to police

The accused officer still denied the charges as of press time despite what police called undisputed and clear evidence of the crime.
