Thai Woman Rescued After Being Allegedly Attacked and Detained by her Korean Boyfriend in Pattaya

Pattaya –

A Thai woman has been rescued after she was allegedly attacked and detained by her Korean boyfriend in Pattaya.

The Banglamung Police was notified of the incident at 5:00 P.M. on Sunday (March 12th) at a condominium in Naklua.

Police, rescue teams, and the Pattaya News arrived at the condominium shortly after calls from a friend of the victim. Mr. SEUNG HAK CHEON, 40, a Korean national, and his Thai girlfriend Ms. A., (Name withheld due to being a suspected victim of alleged domestic violence) 27, were inside the room. Mr. Cheon refused to open the door for police or rescue workers. The room owner was contacted before rescue teams were given permission to break down the door.

An unidentified friend of Ms. A. who called police said she was unable to contact her friend for four days. Today, March 12th, Ms. A answered her friend on a LINE chat that she was being detained and attacked and needed help. Her Korean boyfriend had threatened to attack her again after previously beating her, according to the message. An air rescue bed was prepared on the ground as the rescue teams were afraid Ms. Apinya might be thrown down from the room.

Rescue teams broke down the door and Ms. A was found injured inside. Some drugs and drug paraphernalia were also found inside the room, according to Banglamung police. She and her Korean boyfriend were taken to the Banglamung Police Station to file further reports and police and preparing to press multiple charges against Cheon, who did not answer any questions at the scene.
