Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has been appointed as acting Transport Minister in place of Saksayam Chidchob who was suspended from duties pending a court ruling.

The Thai Cabinet approved the appointment on Tuesday, March 14th, which went into immediate effect in line with Article 42 of the Public Administration Act, according to government spokesperson Trisulee Traisoranakul.

Saksayam had been ordered by the Constitutional Court to temporarily stop performing his ministerial duties pending a ruling on his alleged concealment of stocks in a construction company that he allegedly rewarded with multiple government construction contracts.

The minister, so far, has denied all allegations.
