Thai Police Continue Crackdown on Child Sexual Exploitation With Raids and Arrests in Buriram and more

Buriram –

Officials raided a restaurant/bar in Buriram where they reportedly uncovered two minors and two women were arrested elsewhere in Thailand for alleged online child sexual exploitation.

The Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division (ATPD Police) told TPN media that on Wednesday (March 22nd) they arrested Ms. Tuenjai ‘Kukkik’ Thamprakoan, 35 at a restaurant in Mueang Buriram.

Four female teenagers aged from sixteen to seventeen were found servicing customers in the restaurant. Tuenjai is being accused of child sexual exploitation, operating a venue without permission (selling alcohol with no license), and allowing employees under 18 years old to work at a place that sells alcohol.

Meanwhile, the ATPD Police also told TPN media that two women were arrested elsewhere for allegedly being involved in online child sexual exploitation.

Ms. Kanjanee, 31, was arrested in Ratchaburi and Ms. Thanyaphon, 35, was arrested at Sadao Immigration in Songkhla. They are being accused of operating child sexual exploitation services. Ms. Thanyaphon admitted the charge but Ms. Kanjanee has still denied the charge.

The arrest of the two women came after the ATPD Police have rescued female teenagers aged from 15 to 18 in many provinces in the southern part of Thailand. They found that these teenagers were persuaded/groomed to be involved in sexual exploitation online from these two suspects.

These children received 700 baht to 900 baht from each time that they serviced customers. The two suspects received 700 baht to 1,000 baht for their commission.

All suspects were in custody as of press time.
