A man was arrested after he allegedly raped a 17-year-old girl in Thalang that he contacted online.
The Thalang Police told the Phuket Express that the parents of the 17-year-old girl filed a report to police. They told police that their daughter was raped by a man identified only as Mr. Sumet, 24. He contacted the girl via Facebook and flirted with her. He came to the girl’s house in Thalang when he knew that her parents were not at home and allegedly raped the girl before speeding away.
Her parents later found out that their daughter had been raped. She was taken to a hospital for a health check before they filed a report to the police.
Police found that Sumet lives at a rental house in Sri Soonthorn. He was eventually arrested and was taken to to Thalang Police Station to face charges of rape.
Sumet did not immediately make a plea to the charges.
