73-Year-Old French Man Lost and Found in Prachin Buri Jungle

Prachin Buri —

An elderly French man got lost while hiking in a Thai jungle in Prachin Buri province. The man was rescued by local residents and is reportedly safe.

The man was reported lost around 5 PM yesterday, March 26th. He was hiking on the Khao E-To mountain, a popular tourist spot located in Prachin Buri in central Thailand.

Prachin Buri officials assembled a search team and went out looking for the man as the sun went down yesterday but were unsuccessful. However, this morning, March 27th, the authorities received a report that some locals had spotted the man at the base of the mountain.

The foreigner, identified as Mr. Chiara Cammacher, a 73-year-old of French nationality, was rescued and taken to a noodle shop to rest and wait for the officials. Speaking through his Thai wife who later arrived, Cammacher said he was hiking on the mountain and accidentally wandered off the trail.

The man, who was on holiday, thanked the officials for their services. He was then transported to a local hospital for a medical check but despite spending a night alone in the jungle seemed to be in good health and spirits.
