Thailand –
An earthquake was reported on Monday morning (June 19th) in Myanmar with tremors felt as far away as Bangkok and Nonthaburi.
The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) reported at 8:40 A.M. of an earthquake with 6 magnitude and with its epicenter located 10 kilometers under the sea near the southern coast of Myanmar.
It was about 289 kilometers southwest of the Phob Phra district in Tak, western Thailand. Tremors were felt as far away as in Nonthaburi and Bangkok. No damage or injuries were immediately reported in Thailand, although the incident alarmed high-rise office workers in Bangkok as the tremors caused several skyscrapers to sway, sending some workers onto the streets confused about the situation.
The event also caused social media to light up, with many netizens asking what had happened and seeking answers immediately after the quake.
