More Than 90,000 Meth Pills and 2 Kilograms of Crystal Meth Seized in Region 8 Crime Crackdown

More than 90,000 methamphetamine pills and two kilograms of crystal methamphetamine were seized in an upper Southern Thailand crime crackdown.

A press conference was held at the Region 8 Police Station based in Phuket this week. Special Advisor of the Royal Thai Police, Colonel Somphong Chingduang, told the Phuket Express.

This month there have been an illegal drugs crackdown in the Region 8 area in upper Southern Thailand, the raids involved 164 drug networks with a total of 517 targets. Thirty-six targets were arrested.

In total 1,040 suspects were detained. Of those 46 are wanted suspects. In total 99,985 methamphetamine pills and 2.1 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine were seized.

Property was seized which included nine cars, 16 motorbikes, 52 guns and another 559 items which are worth more than 6,200,000 baht.
