Phang Nga –
A 6-year-old Egyptian tourist travelling from Phuket with her family died after she slipped into a waterfall in Phang Nga while having her photo taken by her mother on a bridge.

The Mueang Phang Nga District Chief Mr. Pongsak Wetthayawong was notified of the sad incident on Wednesday (July 26th) from a village headman in the Song Preak sub-district.
Now for the update:
The head of the Song Preak Waterfall Wildlife Conservation, Mr. Utain Siripuwadon, told the Phuket Express that the girl and her family stayed at a hotel in Phuket earlier this week.
They were on a paid trip with a tour guide to the waterfall when the incident happened. At that time, tourists were banned from swimming in the waterfall because of strong water currents. Tourists were only allowed to take photos on a concrete bridge with the waterfall in the background.
The girl’s mother was taking photos of her daughter before the child accidentally slipped off the bridge. Other tourists in the tour attempted to grab her hand but it was too slippery and she fell into the waterfall.
Utain stated that the bridge does have iron safety poles and is regularly inspected, adding that he always asked tour guides to be careful with tourists especially kids and the elderly when visiting the bridge.
It’s not yet clear if any legal action will take place from the family of the young girl towards the park as they were still in mourning as of press time.
The name of the victim and her family were withheld by TPN Media out of respect for the victim’s family.
