Pha Ngan Island, Surat Thani –

A human pelvis with intestines still attached was found dumped in a garbage landfill on Pha Ngan Island in Surat Thani.

Captain Suteep Chadakan of the Pha Ngan Police was notified of the human parts on Thursday (August 3rd) at a garbage landfill in the Koh Pha Ngan Island Municipality. Law enforcement arrived at the scene with rescue workers to find a male pelvis 50 centimeters wide and weighing about five kilograms inside a garbage bag. In the double bag they also found human intestines.

Police believed that the human parts belonged to a foreigner because the bones were much larger than a normal Thai body and had lots of lipid. It is believed that the man died at least 24 hours.

Police believe that the parts were dumped in a trash bin before a garbage collector put the bin in a garbage truck and dumped the remains in the landfill to await future incineration. The Koh Pha Ngan Police are trying to find other parts of his body and to hunt for possible suspects as well as to identify who the pelvis belonged to.
