Young Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck by a Chinese Driver in Samut Songkhram

Samut Songkhram –

A young female pedestrian has been pronounced dead after she was hit by a car in Samut Songkhram whose driver was a Chinese man.

The Mueang Samut Songkhram Police were notified of the accident on Tuesday (August 1st) on the Phra Ram 2 Road in Bang Kaew district, Mueang Samut Songkhram.

Police and emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the body of a woman identified only as Ms. Supansa, 22.
Nearby, rescue teams found the damaged SUV whose driver was a Chinese businessman identified only as Mr. Chan, 47.

Chan told police that he was driving from Phetchaburi heading to Samut Songkhram. When he arrived at the scene, Supansa immediately crossed the road. Chan tried to avoid the collision but the woman still ran towards the SUV, according to his statement.

Mueang Samut Songkhram Police are continuing their investigation for further possible legal action. As of press time, however, legal charges had not been filed against Mr. Chan in regards to the accident.
